Iniscealtra Festival of Arts, Mountshannon

The Mountshannon Arts Festival is an annual festival held at various locations in and around the beautiful lakeside village of Mountshannon in County Clare.

The theme of the festival this year is 'Voice' (glór).

The Mountshannon Arts Festival is an annual festival held at various locations in and around the beautiful lakeside village of Mountshannon in County Clare. 


The official Opening Ceremony and night of music and celebration follows on Wednesday 26th May and the festival continues on through the Bank Holiday weekend, finishing on Monday 7th of June. 

Dance, Contemporary and Ceili, Film, Green Fair, Craft and Art activities and a variety of workshops open to all including Traditional/World music classes. Free outdoor lakeshore concerts, storytelling, puppetry, demonstrations and participatory activities for all the family. Main lakeside events take place over the Bank Holiday weekend. 

There will be a a singers' / storytellers' session (SINGERs CLUB Loch Deirge) held on the last day of the festival. Invited guests include: Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh (of Danú , and a presenter on TG4) Robbie McMahon (a living legend, and a national treasure, all hailing from Spancil Hill) Cian Hanamy (the 1st pl winner of 2009 All-Ireland mens 12-15 yr traditional singing as Bearla) your Bean a 'Tí will be Peneleapaí Ní Tiung of the SINGERs CLUB Loch Deirge. 

The Festival is produced in association with Mountshannon Community Council, An Comhairle Ealaíon/The Arts Council, and Clare County Council. 

A diverse and entertaining programme will offer something for everyone interested in the arts - music, drama, visual art, performance, green fair, spectacle and more...
